Anthony Valdiosera: Chief Executive Delivers Quality Services with Multicultural Team

VST Engineering Inc.
Oakland, Calif.
As CEO of VST Engineering Inc., Anthony Valdiosera says he has committed the firm to supporting solutions to solve the construction industry’s No. 1 challenge: recruiting and retaining the next generation of skilled workers.
“Right now we have an aging infrastructure, areas of huge disrepair that need a ton of work and there is a lack of people to do that work,” he says. “One of my key focuses as an owner of a company has been workforce development, being involved with organizations that help grow the industry.”
Becoming CEO in 2018, Valdiosera says his goal is to build an engineering company focused on quality services with a diverse and multicultural team.
“It’s absolutely critical for a small business to continue to grow and strengthen those relationships,” he says. “We try to do our best to support organizations that are focused on workforce development and make sure people understand that this field exists and is a viable path to success.”
Shortly after completing a Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering at California State University-Sacramento in 2009, Valdiosera began work as a roadway and highway designer at Jacobs and Parsons.
After earning his professional engineer license in 2012, he worked as a rail designer on the California High Speed Rail program, which shifted his career toward rail infrastructure and led to an opportunity in the United Arab Emirates as a civil and utility designer on the Qatar Long Distance Rail. Valdiosera soon made another shift, this time into project management for the Bay Area Rapid Transit Traction Power Replacement Program.
In addition to serving as a mentor through the ACE Mentor Program’s Oakland Chapter, Valdiosera has a leadership role in BuildOUT California’s Transportation Working Group and is also a member of the Construction Management Association of America Northern California chapter’s diversity and equity committee.
