ENR Mountain States and Southwest has selected Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) as Southwest Design Firm of the Year. The firm experienced 46% growth in the Southwest last year and 35% in the larger region while doubling its engineering-led business and leveraging data and technology on several high-profile regional projects.
Firms of the Year are chosen by a vote of the regional ENR editors from across the country based on a carefully selected group of finalists. Factors include regional revenues, new initiatives, current projects, community and industry contributions and other considerations. The ENR Southwest area includes firms working in Arizona and New Mexico.
AEI designed passive solar and daylight harvesting systems for the all-electric Flagstaff Mountain Line Downtown Connection Center, profiled in a recent ENR story. Other key projects include Banner Health Scottsdale Health Center Plus; the University of Arizona Grand Challenges Research Building; and two 2024 ENR award-winning projects: Valleywise New Medical Center in Phoenix and the Arizona State University Bateman Physical Sciences Center Renovation in Tempe, Ariz.
A story on AEI will appear in the June 23 print issue of ENR Mountain States and Southwest, which will also feature our annual ranking of the top design firms across the seven-state region of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
